Data You Give Us Directly
You choose what to send, and most visitors send nothing at all. The two places where information can come from you are described below.
Search Queries
A search box on this site is operated by a third-party provider. Whatever you type there is handled by that provider under its own privacy terms, and this site does not receive the query or the results. Do not enter a Social Security number, a driver's license number, or another person's date of birth into any search field on this site.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you send a message through a contact route, the details you include are used only to read and answer it. Do not send case numbers, dates of birth, or documents unless a court or agency asks you for them through its own secure channel.
Data We Gather Automatically
Like most websites, the server records basic technical information when a page loads, such as the requested page, the time, the referring link, and a general device or browser type. This information is used to keep the site working and to see which pages readers find useful. It is not used to identify a visitor.
Cookies and Analytics
Small files called cookies may be set to remember display preferences or to measure traffic in aggregate. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site's reading content will still work. Third-party services, including advertising or search partners, may set their own cookies when their content loads.
What We Do With This Data
The information described above is used to operate the site, answer messages, fix errors, and understand broad readership patterns. It is not sold, rented, or traded, and it is not used to build a profile of an individual reader.
Aggregate counts, such as how many people opened a page in a month, may be shared in a summary. Those summaries never identify a person.
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not maintain a database of warrants, cases, arrests, or people. Nothing you read here is drawn from a private file, because no such file exists on this site.
Court records are held by the courts and are reached under Michigan Court Rule 8.119. Police and county agency records are held by those agencies and can be requested under the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231 through 15.246. A request goes to the office that keeps the record, and that office decides what may be released or redacted under the exemptions in the law.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes on this site are supplied by outside companies. Those companies control their own data practices, retention rules, and pricing, and their terms apply to anything you type into their tool. Read their policies before using one, and treat any result as a lead to verify with the Macomb County court or agency that holds the record.
Links to Other Websites
Pages here link to court, sheriff, county, and state resources. Those sites are run by other organizations and follow their own privacy rules. Once you leave this site, this policy no longer applies, and you should check the privacy statement on the page you reach.
Who Might See Your Data
Access to the limited information this site holds is restricted to the people who run and maintain it, and to service providers that host the site or route messages. Those providers see data only to perform that work.
Information may also be disclosed when the law requires it, such as in response to a valid legal order. Because the site keeps so little, a disclosure would be limited to server logs or a message a visitor chose to send.
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable technical and organizational steps are used to protect the site and any message it receives, including access controls on the accounts that manage it. No website can promise perfect security, so avoid sending sensitive personal information through any general contact form.
Users Under 18
This site is written for adults who are checking their own status or helping a family member. It is not directed to children, and it does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian with a question about a minor's court matter should contact the court that holds the case.
Your Data Rights
You may ask what information this site holds about you, ask that it be corrected, or ask that a message you sent be deleted. Because the site keeps no case records, a request about a court or police file has to go to the agency that holds it, under the Michigan rules and statutes named above.
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be updated when the site changes how it works or when the law changes. The effective date at the top of the page will show when the current version took effect. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
